Become a Volunteer Tutor

If you can read and write English, like people, and have 1 to 2 hours a week, you can become a volunteer tutor. We provide training, teaching materials, and mentors to assist you in this important work.

Tutor Training Workshop

At last a chance to be a hero and really make a difference by teaching someone English as a Second Language. You can help them:

  • Read to their children
  • Talk with their children's teachers
  • Apply for citizenship
  • Get a better job

The next Tutor Training Workshop will be held:

Date: Three Saturday Sessions: October 4, 11and 18, 2003
Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Address: 4000 Clayton Road, Concord, CA

  • There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee.
  • We need you to commit to one to two hours of tutoring per week on a regular basis.
  • We provide training, match you to a student and help start your one-on-one tutoring sessions.

2002 Membership Dues Are Overdue

It is 2003 already, and time to renew your membership in DVLC. Please take a moment now to write your $10.00 check.

While writing the check, please consider adding an extra amount as a donation. Any extra funds received would be very much appreciated and would help to cover our many on-going expenses, especially our increasing newsletter and mailing expenses. Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

Also please notify her ASAP with your change of address. This is important because DVLC uses bulk mail service which does not include forwarding service.
