Volunteer Tutor with Student

Become a Volunteer Tutor

If you can read and write English, like people, and have 1 to 2 hours a week, you can become a volunteer tutor. We provide training, teaching materials, and mentors to assist you in this important work.

Fall Tutor Training Workshop Announced

We have a growing list of waiting students! If you know someone who is interested in becoming a Tutor, they should reserve a spot in the Fall training soon.

The next Tutor Training Workshop will be held:

Date: October 12, 19, and 26
Time: 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Location: Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
Address: 4000 Clayton Road, Concord, CA

There is a $10 non-refundable registration fee.
Snacks and beverages will be provided.
Trainees will find that the personal rewards of helping someone else reach their goals is extremely fulfilling.

Certificates will be issued upon completion of all three sessions.

We are planning to have a guest speaker tell us about other English language learning outreach programs in the Diablo Valley. It is very interesting to learn what niches each group fills, and how we can work together.

Come share tutoring tips with other DVLC tutors over snacks and coffee.

Make sure you send us your e-mail address with this quarter's hours report so we can give you information about the guest speaker and the time of the event.
