Become a Volunteer Tutor

If you can read and write English, like people, and have 1 to 2 hours a week, you can become a volunteer tutor. We provide training, teaching materials, and mentors to assist you in this important work.

Fall In-Service

• Ms. Rosemary Slavin will tell us about other English language learning outreach programs in the Diablo Valley. It is very interesting to learn what niches each group fills, and how we can work together.

• Come share tutoring tips with other DVLC tutors over snacks and coffee.

• Make sure you send us your e-mail address with this quarter's hours report so we can give you information about the guest speaker and the time of the event.

Annual Holiday Luncheon

Tutors, their students and families are invited to our annual luncheon to enjoy the holiday atmosphere together. It's a wonderful time for tutors to meet and students to make new acquaintances, often from their own country.

Everyone brings a dish to share -- we especially enjoy it when students bring a dish of their native country. Beverages and dinnerware are provided.

Games for all ages are planned with gifts for the winners. Everyone has a lot of fun!
