Become a Volunteer Tutor

If you can read and write English, like people, and have 1 to 2 hours a week, you can become a volunteer tutor. We provide training, teaching materials, and mentors to assist you in this important work.

At last a chance to be a hero and really make a difference by teaching someone English as a Second Language. You can help them:

The next Tutor Training Workshop will be held:

  • There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee.
  • We need you to commit to one to two hours of tutoring per week on a regular basis.
  • We provide training, match you to a student and help start your one-on-one tutoring sessions.

Tutor and Student 67 Students Waiting
We took in a lot of new students in June and July, but many of these will soon be tutored by the graduates of our October Workshop. 78% of the waiting students are Spanish speaking, and 86% of them are female.

Most live in Central County. Concord, with 59%, has the largest group. 19% are in East County, and the rest are spread around.

The average waiting time is 7.5 months.
